Job Description

Farmstand Associate

Position Summary:

The Farmstand Associate supports the Farmstand Lead and the rest of the Farmstand team by providing excellent customer service and meeting sales goals in the Farmstand. The position handles many different aspects of the Farmstand including serving food to guests, selling local produce and farm products, and telling the story of the farm. Responsibilities include staying up-to-date on product features, addressing customer questions and complaints, and maintaining the Farmstand’s visual appearance. S/he is an enthusiastic, personable, creative individual with high ethical standards.

Reports to: Farmstand Lead

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure an exceptional guest experience by providing outstanding customer service
    • Welcome guests to the Farmstand and answer their queries
    • Assess guest needs and provide assistance and information on product features
    • Tell guests stories about the current work and history of Carnation Farms
    • Follow and achieve the Farmstand’s monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals
  • Maintain food service areas and product display areas clean, in-stock, and presentable
    • Communicate with other departments to order more stock as necessary
    • Input inventory into Square
    • Sweep, dust, wipe down surfaces, and wash dishes as necessary
  • Cash Handling
    • Operate point of sale system for all transactions
    • Count money exactly
    • Abide by Carnation Farms’ protocols for good cash handling
  • Serve beverages and food
    • Serve soup, baked goods, and salads
    • Make and serve a variety of coffee beverages
    • Make and serve sandwiches

QUALIFICATIONS

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

  • Food handler card
  • MAST Mandatory Alcohol Server Training Class 13 or 12 certificate
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Background check

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs. frequently
  • Standing/walking up to 8 hours per day
